ICC World Cup 2023 Team List: Cricket World Cup 2023 is all set to commence on October 05, 2023, this was the first time that India will be hosting the tournament entirely. In the past, India co-hosted the World Cup edition 1987, 1996, and 2011. England is the defending champions of this edition because they won the World Cup 2019 by defeating New Zealand.

ICC World Cup 2023 Team List

There will be a total of 10 teams participating in the tournament. Eight teams got their spot confirmed whereas, two other teams joined after completing the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers round. The format of the tournament will be the same as the previous edition; a round-robin format will be used. All the 10 teams will play against each other once in the tournament.

After every match, the winning team will get two points whereas, the losing team will get ZERO and a match with no result will give one point to each team. Based on the points system, teams will climb up on the points table to get quality for the next round which is the Semi-finals.

The top four teams on the World Cup 2023 points table will be qualified for the Semi-finals, there will be two semi-final matches will be played. The first match will be played between 1st and 4th placed teams and the second will be played between 2nd and 3rd placed teams. The final match of World Cup 2023 will be played on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium between the first and second semi-final match winners.

The pathway to qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup was the Super League 2020-23. The top seven teams along with the host India have automatically gotten their spot confirmed in the 8 rights. And other two teams joined after competing in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifier Round.

So far, India, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, and South Africa have their seat confined in the World Cup 2023 whereas, Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Nepal, Oman, Scotland, Zimbabwe, United Arab Emirates, and the United States will be competing to qualify for the tournament.
