Chennai Super Kings’ Kyle Jamieson suffered a back injury, ruling him out of the tournament. He was replaced by Sisanda Magala, who was acquired by the team for INR 50 lakhs. Magala will have big shoes to fill as Jamieson was bought for INR 1 crore in the IPL 2023 auction.
RCB: Will Jacks

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s English all-rounder, Will Jacks, suffered a muscle injury while fielding during England vs. Bangladesh ODI series, and has been ruled out of the tournament. Michael Bracewell will replace Jacks in the RCB squad. Bracewell, a New Zealand all-rounder, was acquired for INR 75 lakhs in the auction.

PBKS: Jonny Bairstow

Punjab Kings’ Jonny Bairstow was ruled out of the tournament due to a prolonged leg injury he sustained in September 2022. Australian cricketer Matthew Short will replace him in the team.

RR: Prasidh Krishna

Rajasthan Royals’ Prasidh Krishna, who was bought for INR 10 crores in the IPL 2022 auction, was ruled out of the tournament following surgery for a lumbar stress fracture in his spine. The team has replaced him with veteran Indian pacer Sandeep Sharma, who went unsold in the IPL 2023 auction.
