Most Sixes In IPL 2008: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2008 season was the inaugural season of the IPL. It was held from April 18 to June 1, 2008, and featured eight teams representing different cities in India. We have seen many emerging players delivering good performances for their respective franchises.
In the very first match, we have seen Brendon McCullum hitting 13 sixes alone in a single inning. That was a memorable inning which no one will forget ever. McCullum scored 158 runs not out and the KKR team’s total was 222.

Sanath Jayasuriya, the former Sri Lankan captain, was a destructive opener who could single-handedly change the course of a game with his aggressive batting. He played 14 matches in the IPL 2008 season, scoring 518 runs at an average of 39.84 and a strike rate of 157.24. He also hit a total of 31 sixes, the most by any player in that season.
Jayasuriya’s best innings of the IPL 2008 season came against the Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai. In that match, he scored 114 runs off just 48 balls, including 9 fours and 11 sixes. His 11 sixes in that innings were the most by any player in a single IPL inning that season.
Apart from Jayasuriya, there were other big hitters in the IPL 2008 season who hit a significant number of sixes. These included Adam Gilchrist from the Deccan Chargers, who hit 29 sixes in 16 matches, and Virender Sehwag from the Delhi Daredevils, who hit 21 sixes in 14 matches.
Sanath Jayasuriya leads the table of most sixes hitters in the IPL 2008 season with a total of 31 sixes. His aggressive batting style and ability to hit the ball out of the park made him a dangerous player in the tournament.

The record for the most sixes in an inning in IPL 2008 is held by Brendon McCullum. McCullum, who played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, smashed an incredible 13 sixes in his innings of 158 not out against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
McCullum’s innings were one of the most memorable in IPL history, as he took apart the RCB bowling attack and scored his runs at a strike rate of 226. His innings included 10 fours and 13 sixes, with many of the sixes landing in the stands or over the boundary rope.
McCullum’s performance helped the Kolkata Knight Riders to a massive total of 222 runs in their 20 overs, a total that was too much for the Royal Challengers Bangalore to chase down. McCullum’s innings was a display of pure power hitting, and it set the tone for the rest of the tournament.
