RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. Their openers provided a solid start, but it was skipper Virat Kohli who played the anchor role and scored a brisk half-century. Contributions from other batsmen such as Lomror, Maxwell, and Shahbaz Ahmed helped RCB post a challenging total of 174/6 in their 20 overs.

In response, the Delhi Capitals suffered an early collapse, losing their top three batsmen for just two runs on the board. Manish Pandey steadied the innings with a well-made fifty, but the Delhi Capitals kept losing wickets at regular intervals and fell short of the target by 23 runs.
