So, it became a total of 10 IPL franchises this season. Fans are very excited for this season because the more teams the lengthier tournament and the tougher the competition.

IPL 2022 Auction will be a mega auction, this was scheduled to be conducted just before the IPL 2021 but due to Covid conditions, it could not be possible. Just a mini-Auction held before that season.

But this year, there will be a Mega Auction to take place before the league.

Tata IPL 2022 Format

IPL 2022 edition won’t be conducted in the normal format of the Indian Premier League where each team plays two matches with other teams, one on their home ground and another one on the opposition’s home ground.

In IPL 2022, all 10 teams will be divided into two grounds — Group A & Group B. Group A and B teams will play one match with each other and each team from both groups will play 1 more match which will be selected from the draw.

A total of 14 matches will be played by each franchise…

We hope that if not this year, then Next year IPL should be returned to their normal home-away format which we love.
